Pilates has been known as one of the best exercises for improving flexibility, posture, core strength to name a few. But what some of you don’t know is how great it is for improving your sex life! Most or all of the exercises performed in Pilates require the use of your pelvic floor muscle, aka kegel. Pelvic floor muscles are the layer or muscles that support the pelvic organs and span the bottom of the pelvis. After childbirth, a common reason, this muscle can become weak and lead to troubles like those of urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and sexual dysfunction. In just a few steps you can be on your way to the best sex of your life resulting in multiple orgasms.

  1. Work that pelvic floor muscle daily by doing a few kegel exercises. Whether you are riding in your car, sitting at your desk practice. It will eventually become a habit.
  2. Start taking a Pilates class or two or three (if you live in the Lafayette, LA area visit www.imxlafayette.com for some bombass classes) where you will be sure to practice some of the best exercises that will improve your pelvic floor muscle
    1. Bridge
    2. Leg Presses – Reformer
    3. Spine Twist
    4. Side kicks
    5. Roll Up
  3. Stretch. Pilates can be used for flexibility as stated above which, too, aids in better sex. When muscles are well-stretched they are able to provide the body with full range of motion. Think rolling your hips around and around.
  4. Strengthen the core. Strong abdominal muscles mean better performance. Pilates allows you to discover your deepest core muscles, tranversus abdominis making this possible. Think longer lasting positions and burning calories!
